For this version of our Contour series, we once again explored the relationship between light and a graphic backdrop. The mural was specifically designed as an integral part of the light work, forming a single composition with the light lines.
We first create a number of designs to scale, using pen and paper. The final composition is then selected and executed at full scale. The mural is applied in a sketch-like and intuitive manner, creating an intriguing contrast with the precision of the light work. Light, form, texture and the existing wall come together to create a layered image.
